János Eifert (1943 - ) Photographer. Born in Hódmezővásárhely. He was a professional dancer for the Honvéd Dance-troop between 1960 and 1977. He took up photography in 1968 when on foreign tours. From 1977 he was the photo reporter for Lobogó and from 1978 to 1988 for Búvár. In 1984 he was the artistic director of the Sebesvíz International Photography Camp, and head teacher of the vocational college and master-course of the Hungarian Photographic arts Association (MFSZ). He has also been preparing diaporamas since 1985. In 1993 his picture entitled Dance, and his diaporama entitled Firedance were selected for the FIAP historical collection. In 1998 he became artistic director for the 1st National Photo Week, and the founder and responsible editor for the MFSZ homepage, the first online photographic magazine in Hungary. Founder and first artistic director of the Contemporary Photographic art Collection brought into being by the National Széchényi Library and MFSZ, as well as vice-president of HUNGART.
