Endre Hegedűs (1954 - )
Pianist. Born in Hódmezővásárhely. He began his studies as at the local General Music School. After graduating he won a place at the piano department at the Ferenc Liszt Music College, where, following completion of his piano teaching studies, he also attained his pianist’s diploma in 1980. He has regularly given concerts at home and abroad as a soloist and chamber-artist, amassing more than 2100 appearances to-date. He has appeared with great success as a guest performer in numerous European countries, as well as in Australia, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Canada and the USA. Currently piano professor at the Teacher-training Institute of the Ferenc Liszt Music University in Budapest. He was decorated in his home town with the Pro Urbe award in 2001.
